There will not be a 1 to 1 relationship between the 2013 style and the 2010 styles, largely in part due to the fact that the entire underpinning of 2013 has changed. I do not know offhand where the limitation is for the role search, but it cannot be done, unless a custom provider is written to do so. the ASP.NET membership provider does not support this.
